All Set West is a skills package for the West of England designed to support emerging talent in the region to access opportunities in scripted film and TV production.
It is funded by the BFI National Lottery Places Fund and delivered by Bristol City Council’s Film Services (The Bottle Yard Studios, Bristol UNESCO City of Film and Bristol Film Office) in partnership with the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority.
Their package of support includes:
- All Set West Hub
The All Set West Hub is a website designed to help new entrants navigate the industry and to connect industry opportunities with diverse local talent. Through collaboration, education and resources, the hub helps to open up the industry.
- All Set West Training and Placements
Delivered online and at The Bottle Yard Studios, this free training programme provides trainees with the skills and knowledge to become ‘set-ready’ for a career in scripted film and TV production. They then work with productions filming locally to connect trainees up with placements, giving them their first important credit. (NB: Placements are only available to those who have completed the All Set West Training.)
All Set West Training runs online and at The Bottle Yard Studios. The course will give you the skills and know-how to kickstart a career on a film or TV set. They take the mystery out of scripted production and get you ready for entry-level roles in the industry.
Over 5 weeks, you’ll dive into:
- Building confidence and set etiquette
- Communication and teamwork
- Wellbeing and resilience
- Money smarts and working as a freelancer
