This Essential Digital Skills course is suitable for beginners or those who want to refresh their digital skills. It is open to learners aged 19+ (in August 2026) with few or no qualifications.

The course takes place on Fridays.

What you’ll learn

You will learn how to use a laptop and develop essential digital skills, including how to:

  • Connect a laptop to Wi-Fi
  • Search the internet and identify useful websites
  • Create, edit, format and save documents
  • Manage files and folders
  • Send and receive emails with attachments
  • Complete online forms
  • Create strong passwords
  • Recognise scams and stay secure online

What happens next

By the end of the course, you will have developed essential digital skills and an understanding of how to stay safe and secure online.
