Bristol Community Learning – Software Skills

Build your digital skills, knowledge and confidence using a range of software, including artificial intelligence (AI). This free course is for Bristol residents aged 19+ with few or no qualifications who want to improve their software skills and use technology to support their goals in employment, training and community activities.

The course runs every Thursday from 1 October to 19 November 2026 and does not run during half term.

What you’ll learn

• Digital skills, knowledge and confidence
• How to use digital software, including artificial intelligence (AI)
• How to use apps on portable devices
• Practical software skills for everyday use
• How software can support your goals in employment, training and community activities
• How to create and update documents using a word processor
• How to use spreadsheets, graphics and marketing software
• What software is available for use on your own device or through facilities such as library computers
• How to find free or reduced-cost software if you are on a low income or unemployed

What happens next

You will have improved digital skills, knowledge and confidence, and a better understanding of the software available to support your goals and interests.
