Virtual

It can be hard for a pupil to imagine life after school or college. But imagine if these young people could meet a role model who could show them a world of life choices they didn’t even know existed. Now imagine if that role model was relatable – someone from their town, who had attended their school, who had sat in their classroom – someone just like them.

At Future First, we believe that relatable role models can show young people first-hand what they can become, and what ‘someone like me’ can achieve. From sharing your story online to heading back into the classroom to take part in workshops, there are plenty of opportunities to support young people both virtually and in-person, whilst developing your skills, confidence, and experience through volunteering.

Why volunteer?
By volunteering with Future First, you have the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people. Many students, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, do not have access to relatable role models or professional networks. Your participation helps bridge that gap.

Benefits of volunteering
Volunteering with us can enhance your leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, while also contributing towards your continuous professional development (CPD). Many volunteers report a sense of real achievement, and the opportunity to expand their personal and professional networks.

Who are our volunteers?
Our volunteers come from diverse backgrounds, professions, and communities. Many are alumni who return to their former schools to give back, offering a unique shared experience that resonates with students. Whether you’re an alumnus or a professional in a different sector, your involvement is invaluable and could open a young person’s path to success.
