What this course offers
This free 8-week programme is for young people aged 16 to 25 who are interested in traditional ways of making things and connecting with nature as part of a group. Delivered in partnership between Off The Record (OTR) and Bristol Tree Craft, the programme provides a welcoming, non-judgemental and relaxed space where you’ll be supported to learn craft skills, connect with nature and nurture your wellbeing.
The programme runs on 8 consecutive Wednesdays from 2pm to 5pm.
The group is limited to a maximum of 12 young people. If there are more sign-ups than places available, priority will be given to young people who have not previously attended the programme.

- Traditional ways of making things by hand
- Different ways of connecting with nature
- How learning by doing in a hands-on environment can support wellbeing
What you’ll do
- Learn craft skills in a welcoming, non-judgemental and relaxed environment
- Explore traditional ways of making things as part of a group
- Create items from scratch using traditional craft techniques
- Take part in shared learning experiences with other young people
- Spend time in nature and take a break from the stresses of everyday life
- Take part at your own pace, with all activities optional
