Read Easy – Keynsham

Read Easy provides free, confidential one-to-one reading coaching for adults aged 18 and over who are unable to read or who struggle with reading.

Read Easy Keynsham provides reading coaching for residents of Keynsham and the surrounding villages. Each reader is paired with a coach and together they arrange two 30-minute sessions each week.

How you’ll be supported

Read Easy coaches use the Shannon Trust’s Turning Pages manuals, which follow a phonics-based approach. You will build an understanding of the relationship between letters, words and sounds, and gradually develop the skills needed to read words and sentences.

The Turning Pages manuals use words and sentences that are relevant to adults. The materials are supported by a range of short reading books covering topics that may be of interest to adult learners.

Sessions are likely to take place at Keynsham Library. Many readers take between 18 months and two years to work through the five Turning Pages manuals, but learning takes place at your own pace.
