What this course offers

This is a three‑day, in‑person course for young people aged 18–30 who are interested in working in social care. It helps you build employability skills and learn more about social care roles and the recruitment process.

What you’ll learn

You’ll learn about:

  • the social care sector, including safeguarding and confidentiality
  • different roles in social care, such as support worker, activity co‑ordinator and admin
  • what employers look for in candidates

What you’ll do

  • take part in employability workshops
  • meet local social care employers
  • get tips for applications and take part in mock interviews

What happens next

You can receive one‑to‑one support with job applications and interviews, as well as ongoing mentoring. Additional financial support may be available for equipment, training, travel or clothing.

You must be based in Bristol or the surrounding area to take part.
