When you study at the University of Bath, you will join a vibrant learning community made up of members of the public, University staff and students. All courses offered to members of the public are also available to students and staff, so your class will include an interesting and diverse mix of learners.

These courses are designed to increase your cultural awareness and communication skills, and build your confidence to travel, work or live abroad, opening doors worldwide.

German classes available

The University of Bath offers German classes based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

German classes are available at a range of levels, from Stage 1.1 for complete beginners to Stage 4.1, which is equivalent to CEFR level B2.1.

Outside the classroom, the University shares cultural events organised by German organisations in the UK with its students, including:

  • Goethe-Institut London
  • UK-German Connection
  • Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD)

These events offer additional opportunities to develop your knowledge of German language and culture.

The University also organises its own cultural events and Language Cafés. If you are enrolled on a language course, you are welcome to take part in these activities. Ask your teacher for more information after you have enrolled.
