With the region preparing to host the landmark British Art Show 2027, our Skills Bootcamp is designed to empower staff working in cultural and visitor venues across the West of England to develop a skilled, knowledgeable cultural and events workforce. Enhancing capability to produce events that optimise visitor experiences and encourage return visits.
Our partnership between UWE Bristol, Spike Island and Royal West of England Academy (RWA) brings together expertise from both academia and industry, offering strategic mentorship, peer learning, live case studies and practical tools tailored to the realities of developing accessible and inclusive events.
Who is it for?
Emerging/early-career through to experienced visitor services/events professionals looking to expand their skills and knowledge and develop new skills applicable to operational roles within venues, and in developing designing and delivering a wider range of arts events.

  • Eligibility: Not currently be in full-time or part-time education, Not have completed a Skills Bootcamp funded by the DFE in the last 12 months, Right to live and work in the UK
  • Ages: 19+
