This free online course from Weston College is for adults who want to work in construction as a labourer. It is suitable for people with no previous construction qualifications.
The course helps you build the knowledge needed to work safely on a construction site and supports you to apply for a CSCS Green Card. This card is required to work on most construction sites and shows you understand basic health and safety.

What you will study

- Basic construction knowledge and site rules
- Communication, teamwork and problem‑solving skills

You will work towards the following certificates:
- Level 1 Certificate in Construction and Building Industries
- Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment
Progression
After completing the course, you may be able to move into work as a labourer or progress into further construction training, such as brickwork or scaffolding.
