What this course offers
This online course is for people interested in working as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) at Weston College. It is designed to give you the foundational knowledge needed to confidently apply for current learning support vacancies and includes the opportunity for a guaranteed interview.
The role involves providing learning support to students with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), helping them to develop independence and achieve their full potential.
The programme runs over 10 days across 2 weeks, with additional support available in week 3 if needed.

- Take part in online learning via Microsoft Teams
- Work towards qualifications in Preparing to Work in an Education Setting, Understanding Safeguarding in Education and Prevent Duty Awareness
- Join a question and answer session with the SEND team
- Receive application support and interview preparation

- Potentially take part in a site visit and tour of the Knightstone, Loxton and South West Skills campuses as part of the interview process
