Weston College – Preparation for introduction to HGV Driving

What this course offers

This is an online, three‑week preparation course for adults who want to become an HGV (Category C) driver. It helps you understand transport and logistics and prepares you for the steps needed before practical HGV driver training.

What you’ll learn

During the course, you will cover:

• Transport and Logistics
• Certificate in skills for working in a Transport and Logistics Environment
• Driver theory learning using the DTS platform (online driving theory learning)

Before you apply

Please note: this course is not currently open to applicants living in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, or Bath and North East Somerset.

What happens next

After the course, practical HGV training is booked once you have:

• Passed a medical assessment
• Received a provisional licence
• Completed 35 hours of online theory learning
• Passed theory tests 1A, 1B and 2
