What you will study

You will work towards the following recognised qualifications:

  • NCFE CACHE Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Schools
  • NCFE CACHE Level 1 Award in Understanding Safeguarding in Education and Childcare Settings
  • NCFE CACHE Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness
  • Gateway Qualification Entry 3 Award in Prevent Awareness

During the course, you will learn:

  • How schools work and the different types of schools in the UK
  • How children develop from birth to age 18
  • How to communicate with children, young people and adults
  • How to support children’s physical and mental wellbeing
  • How to keep children safe and follow safeguarding rules
  • What to do if you are worried about a child’s safety
  • How to recognise and respond to concerns linked to the Prevent Duty
