Our vision is for every young person in the UK, regardless of their background, to fulfil their unique potential and contribute to society. The award-winning Spear Programme offers young people recognised coaching, for free, to support them into sustainable work or education. They leave Spear equipped to thrive in work and life. Over 70% who complete Spear get into work or education and are still there a year later.
We are on a mission to transform the lives of up to 90 young people facing challenging circumstances in Bristol each year, giving them the support, skills and confidence they need to get into work or re-enter education. The Spear Programme last for 6 weeks, is delivered by our highly trained coaches and includes CV support, interview training and practice. After the 6 week programme we provide 12 months of personalised support helping them secure employment, and then sustain and thrive in their role. In 2022 the Department of Work and Pensions Employment Data Lab evaluated the Spear Programme and found that those who completed the programme are 25% more likely to be employed 12 months after the programme than young people who didn’t do the programme.
